In searching for the ideal graduate sales job, there are many hints and tips that may seem obvious but can make a huge difference to your success. While a fantastic CV should be at the top of your list, you should always remember the following:
Dress to impress
Research shows that within 90 seconds of meeting someone, we form an opinion about them mainly based on their appearance. Our brains react instinctively on an emotional level before it begins analysing the information given to them. This is why it is so important that your first impression is a positive one.
Use positive language
There are few "negative" expressions that cannot be expressed positively- make sure that during all stages of assessment (whether in interview, or even waiting to be interviewed) you use as much "positive" language as possible. Avoid using expressions such as "I get bored easily" - instead of this you could say "I am always looking for new challenges and like to keep myself busy."
Of course, NEVER distort the truth or lie, as this will only hurt you in the end, but do make sure that the impression you give of yourself is the best it can be.
Keep your energy levels high
Our clients are looking for candidates with enthusiasm and the determination to succeed - make sure that you pace yourself so that you make an impression right to the end of your assessment or interview.
